Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium Program Descriptions
Journey North – Join us on a journey through the Arctic. We will uncover the secrets of survival in this harsh environment, as we discover Arctic wildlife from tundra to sea. Does not include live animals. This program can travel up to 120 miles away. (Grades k-8)
The Choice is Ours – Come on down! This exciting game show will help students discover how their choices impact the world around them. Does include live animals. This program can travel up to 120 miles away. (k-8)
Radical Reptiles – Enter the world of reptilian wonders and discover the amazing adaptations that enable them to survive through the ages. Does include live animals. The program can travel up to 120 miles away. (Grades k-8)
Rainforest Rhythms – Travel through the layers of tropical rainforest, while learning more about the incredible animals found in each layer and their unique adaptations that aid survival. Does include live animals. This program can travel up to 60 miles away. (Grades k – 8)
Oceans Away – This interactive program allows students to investigate ocean habitats such as coral reefs and icy polar regions, through fun and imaginative learning. Due to the nature of marine life, live animals cannot make an appearance. This program can travel up to 120 miles away. (Grade K-6)
Preschool Programs – (Age 2 – Kindergarten) Interactive classes specially designed for preschoolers to develop a love and understanding of wildlife include: Zoos for Twos (Age 2), Furry Friends o' Color Zoo (Age 3), Zoo Moves (Ages 3 – 5) or Super Senses (Ages 4-5), Zoofari (Kindergarten). All programs are 45 minutes in length, except Zoos for Twos is 30 minutes. Each program includes live animals. Minimum school size of 25 students is required. This program can travel up to 90 miles away.
